Terms and Conditions

1. General

At the time of your pet's appointment please ensure that they are fit and healthy and all vaccinations for canine parvovirus, canine distemper virus, Leptospirosis and Infectious canine hepatitis are up to date.

Due to the nature of pet grooming all quoted prices prior to actually grooming your dog are only estimates. Final price will depend on the breed, size and temperament of each dog as well as the condition of its coat. Upon physical inspection by the groomer, an estimated price will be provided. Extra charges may apply for pets that are matted and/or difficult to manage.

Occasionally, grooming can expose a hidden medical problem or aggravate a current one. This can occur during or after grooming. We cannot be held liable for any issues occur, please contact your Vet for advice.

2. Booking an Appointment

We highly  recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred date and time. All new clients are required to fill in our Pet Form which will be emailed to you prior to your appointment. Returning clients should let us know of any changes to their dog's circumstances.

3- Cancellation,Late Arrivals  and No Attendance

If you need to cancel or move your appointment, please let us know at least  48 hours prior to your appointment. This is so we have enough time to offer the appointment time to another dog needing our services. Late cancellations or no-shows incur the full fee, and future bookings must be paid in advance to secure an appointment.

If you arrive more than 15 min late  to your appointment, we would not be able to groom your dog and full fees will apply.

4- Payment and Collection

We accept payment by cash or bank transfer at the end of the appointment.

Once your dog is ready, we will call/text to let you know.Collections must be within 20 min of notification and collection by another person must be agreed prior to groom. Late collection fee of £5 for each 15 min  delay will apply.

5- Customer Satisfaction

We groom all our dogs to the owner's specification agreed during pre-groom consultation and  aim to achieve 100% satisfaction with our clients.

If you are not happy with any aspects of your dog's groom, please let us know in 24 hours. We would do our best to put it right.

6. Accidents

Grooming tools are sharp and, even though we always use extreme caution and care, there is always the risk of an accident. Potential injuries include cuts, grazes as well as quickening of the nails. Usually this happens when a dog wiggles or moves a lot. Although we make every effort to ensure your dog is groomed as safely as possible, in rare cases it can be dangerous to continue the groom.

If your pet becomes ill while in our care, we may call a Vet. Unless it can be clearly shown that Me and My Dog Grooming Studio are liable, all Vet costs shall be at the owner's expense. If an injury becomes apparent after the grooming session, it must be reported within 24 hours otherwise we are unable to accept any liability.

7. Senior Dogs

Grooming of elderly and unwell dogs and/or dogs with pre-existing health conditions is entirely at the owner's risk. We cannot be held liable for any issues which may arise in this situation. Senior dogs will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort, in styles so the grooming experience as stress-free as possible. We will also let you know any health issues we discover on the day.

8. Dangerous Dogs

Please let us know prior to grooming if your dog has bitten or has showed any aggressive tendencies in the past.

In rare cases, we reserve the right to muzzle your dog if it represents a danger to our staff or other dogs in the studio. Unless this has been discussed and agreed beforehand we reserve the right to turn your dog away without grooming it - however the full starting price for your groom will still be charged because at that point we cannot fill your appointment.

9. Matted Dogs

If we feel that de-matting your pet would cause too much stress and discomfort we may recommend a complete clip down, in accordance with The Animal Welfare Act 2007.

This is very different to removing small knots, tangles and isolated matted hair from the coat which can be achieved quickly without causing anxiety, stress or pain.

After-effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, skin redness, haematomas, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions, and failure of the hair to re-grow. If your dog needs to be clipped in the interests of its own well-being, you acknowledge that you agree to this procedure being carried out and the associated risks, and that any related veterinary care expenses are your full responsibility. A shave-down will always incur extra fees of £20.

10. Pregnant Bitches

We are happy to groom expecting dogs as long as they are confirmed to be fit and healthy by a Vet and the owner is happy to assist with the groom. Due to the additional risks involved in grooming pregnant bitches, we will ask you to read through and sign a disclaimer and will only provide a simple groom for cleanliness and comfort.

11. Bitches in Season

We are happy to groom bitches in season as long as we are made aware of it in advance so we can book her in to the last appointment of the day. Please note that bitches can act out of character when in season and this may affect the quality of the groom.

12. Fleas and Ticks

If your dog is found to have fleas, your dog would be given a flea bath for an additional £15 (we will provide pictures and videos as proof and seek confirmation from you via phone). Please keep up to date with preventative treatment. We do not accept responsibility of fleas found on dogs after their appointment.

Ticks will be removed free of charge and you will be notified if any are found.
