Our Ts & Cs
-
1- General
At the time of your pet’s appointment please ensure that a they are fit & healthy and all vaccinations for canine parvovirus, canine distemper, leptospirosis and infectious canine hepatitis are up to date.
Due to the nature of pet grooming all prices are only estimates. Final price will depend on the breed, size and temperament of each pet as well as the condition of its coat.Extra charges may apply for pets that are matted and/or difficult to manage.
Occasionally, grooming can expose a hidden medical problem or aggravate a current one. This can occur during or after grooming. We cannot be held liable for any issues occur, please contact your Vet for advice.
-
2- Appointments,Cancellations,Late Arrivals and No Attandance
We highly recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred date and time.
All new clients are required to fill in our pet registration form on the day of your appointment. Returning clients should let us know of any changes to their pet’s circumstances.
Arriving 20 min after your appointment time means we would not be able to groom your pet due to time constrains. You will still be charged for the appointment in full and, an alternative appointment will only be made if it is paid up front.
If you need to cancel or move your appointment, please let us know at least 48H prior to your appointment. This is so we have enough time to offer the appointment to another dog needing our services. Late cancellations and no shows incur the full fee, and future bookings must be paid in advance to secure an appointment.
-
3- Payment and Collecting your Pet
We accept payment by cash or card & bank transfer (except AMEX).
Once your pet is ready, we will call/text to let you know. Collections must be within 20 min of notification. Late collection fee of £5 for each 15 min will apply.
-
4- Customer Satisfaction
We groom all our dogs to the owner’s specification agreed during the pre-groom consultation and aim to achieve 100% satisfaction with our clients.
If you are not happy with any aspects of your pet’s groom, please let us know in 24 H. We would do our best to put it right.
-
5- Accidents and Unwell Pets
Grooming tools are sharp and even though we always use extreme caution and care, there is always the risk of an accident. Potential injuries include cuts, grazes as well as quickening of the nails. Usually this happens when a dog wiggles or moves a lot.
If your pet becomes ill while in our care, we may call a Vet. Unless it can be clearly shown that Me and My Dog is liable, all Vet costs shall be at the owner’s expense. If an injury becomes apparent after the grooming session, it must be reported within 24 H otherwise we are unable to accept any liability.
Although we make every effort to ensure your pet is groomed as safely as possible, in rare cases it can be dangerously to continue the groom.
-
6- Senior Pets and Pets with Health Issues
Grooming of elderly and unwell pets and/or pets with pre-existing health conditions is entirely at the owner’s risk. We cannot be held liable for any issues which may arise in these situations.
Senior pets will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort so the grooming experience is as stress-free as possible.
-
7- Dangerous Pets
Please let us know prior to grooming, if your pet has bitten or has showed any aggressive tendencies in the past.
In rare cases, we reserve the right to muzzle your pet, if it represents to our staff or other pets. Unless this has been discussed and agreed before hand, we reserve the right to turn your dog away without grooming it. However, the full starting price would still be charged because at that point we cannot fill your appointment.
-
8- Matted Pets
If we feel that de-matting your pet would cause too much stress and discomfort we reserve the right to give your pet a complete clip down, in accordance with The Animal Welfare Act 2007.
This is very different to removing small knots, tangles and isolated matted hair from the coat which can be achieved without causing anxiety, stress or pain.
After-effects of complete clip down include itchiness, red skin, haematomas, self-inflicted irritation/abrasions and failure of the hair to re-grow in full. If your pet needs a complete clip down in the interest of its own well-being, you acknowledge that you agree to this procedure and the associated risks, and any related veterinary care expenses are your responsibility. A complete clip down always incurs an extra fee of £20.
-
9- Pregnant Bitches
We are happy to groom expecting pets as long as they are confirmed to be fit and healthy by a vet and the owner is happy to assist with the groom. Due to the additional risks involved in grooming pregnant bitches, we will ask you to sign a disclaimer and will only provide a simple groom for cleanliness and comfort.
-
10- Bitches in Season
We are happy to groom bitches in season as long as we are made aware of it in advance. Please note that bitches in season can act out of character and this may affect the quality of the groom.
-
11- Fleas and Ticks
If your pet is found to have fleas, your dog would be given a flea bath for an additional £15. Please keep up to date with preventative treatments. We do not accept responsibility of fleas found on your pet after their appointment.
Ticks will be removed free of charge and you will be notified if any are found.
-
